    Chase Outdoor Learning School
by Mallory Gosse - Thursday, 1 February 2018, 9:28 AM

Haldane PAC will be hosting a meeting on Feb. 9th @ 9:00 am at Chase Secondary School.. This will be the first meeting to gather information, show our interest, and prepare for our presentation to the School Board. PAC has invited guest speakers from several areas of the district and hope to have a morning full of information, and questions answered. This initiative is completely parent driven, and will require all hands on board to make this awesome school a reality. The Outdoor Learning School is a program that follows the BC Curriculum, and aims to spend a portion of every day outside. Research is consistently showing that spending time in nature enhances creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. Being outdoors increases focus and attention, and evidence to show decrease in ADHD symptoms. Spending time outdoors fosters greater engagement with learning, and and physical activity. Stress, anger and aggression are reduced, which leads to improved relationship skills and allows children to better cope with stress. All parents/guardians or proxy are welcome and encouraged to come! Please follow the Facebook Group for more updates at:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/189010705022119/...
